Founded by Jackie Youn in 2009, JDance is the premiere studio for street jazz, hip hop, and kpop, located centrally in Albertson, NY on Long Island. We serve all ages and levels while providing the highest level of service and instruction from the most passionate instructors. JDance is one of the few studios locally that offer classes for kids along with an extensive and comprehensive selection of classes for adults.
JDance, which our members whether 5 or 65 call home away from home, provides a unique atmosphere of support, motivation, and instruction. When you’re here, you’re not just doing a workout like most other dance classes. You’ll be experiencing and living in an unmatched community through real choreographed dance.
Come in and experience the magic for yourself. We promise you will wonder how you’ve ever lived without us and will never want to live without JDance ever again!
Jackie began dancing in Korea at the age of 28 and moved to America to bring her love of dancing here by starting JDance in 2009. In the past 12 years, Jackie has worked proudly and tirelessly to grow JDance from two students to over a hundred. Her love of dance stems from her desire as an artist to create a moving experience for her audience, whether that be the students in her class or hundreds of attendees at a performance.
In all of the adult classes she teaches at JDance, she choreographs in a mix of different styles (hip hop, street jazz, lyrical, and kpop) and to all different genres of music to keep her classes interesting and fun. Her favorite style to teach is her own which her students just call "So Jackie."
Jackie looks forward to welcoming you into the studio so you can experience JDance and join the amazing community!
Jillianne started her dance journey with JDance at the age of 17. In 2018, she began teaching after having been a student at the studio. She has taught, performed in, and choreographed at multiple JDance showcases since 2017. Following her time at JDance, she later moved on to join NYC K-pop cover group Harmony Movement, and SUNY Albany hip hop teams Liga Modern, Knemesis, and The Ronin.
